Clinical experience in Australia and the United States

Dr Dong Zhao graduated from The University of Sydney Medical School with a Doctor of Medicine in 2017 and holds full general medical registration in Australia and the United States. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Health & Society from the University of British Columbia.

His experience includes Emergency Medicine Registrar roles at Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital, Senior Surgical Resident roles in Paediatric Surgery at Monash Children’s Hospital and Neurosurgery at Monash Health, and locum Career Medical Officer work across emergency departments and Fast-Track units in regional New South Wales. He has also worked in Surgical Pathology, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Neuro ICU care.

Accessible doctor-led telehealth

After seeing the effects of delayed access, long wait times and rising healthcare costs, Dr Zhao co-founded EUCA MD to make Australian medical care more accessible. Patients can consult online about everyday health concerns, prescriptions, test requests, specialist referrals and preventive health assessments.

Research and publications

Dr Zhao has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, including first-author work in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and The Annals of Thoracic Surgery. He has presented research at major Australian and international medical conferences.
