Telehealth FAQs for patients in Australia
Clear information about appointments, clinical limits, documents, insurance and preparing for your consultation.
Appointments and access
Who can use EUCA MD telehealth?
You must be physically located in Australia at the time of your consultation. Adults can book for themselves, and a parent or legal guardian can book suitable care for a child. Availability and clinical suitability are assessed for each appointment.
Can I choose my doctor?
Yes. You can review the profiles of Dr Lily Vu and Dr Dong Zhao, then choose an available appointment with your preferred doctor.
Are appointments by phone or video?
The available consultation format is shown during booking. A doctor may recommend video, an in-person examination or another service when visual assessment or hands-on examination is important.
What should I prepare?
Have your photo identification, Medicare or Individual Healthcare Identifier details if available, current medicines, allergies, relevant results and a quiet private place ready. For skin concerns, take clear unfiltered photos in good light.
Clinical care and documents
What should I do in an emergency?
Do not wait for an online appointment. Call Triple Zero (000) for a life-threatening emergency. For urgent but non-life-threatening health advice, call 1800MEDICARE on 1800 633 422.
Will I receive a prescription, certificate, test request or referral?
Not automatically. The doctor must first assess whether it is clinically appropriate. Some medicines, documents and referrals cannot be provided, and an in-person review or further information may be required.
Can a medical certificate be backdated?
A certificate is issued only when the doctor considers it clinically appropriate and can support the stated period based on the consultation and available information. Backdating is not guaranteed.
Can all conditions be managed online?
No. Telehealth has limits. Examination, vital signs, pathology, imaging or urgent assessment may be required. Your doctor will explain when in-person care is safer or more appropriate.
Insurance, privacy and follow-up
Can overseas visitors and international students claim the consultation cost?
Overseas visitors and international students with OVHC, OSHC or other eligible cover may be able to claim part of the consultation cost, depending on their insurer and policy. EUCA MD cannot guarantee reimbursement. Keep your receipt and confirm eligibility directly with your insurer.
Do I need Medicare?
You can book without Medicare. Some services, including electronic prescriptions, may require Medicare details or an Individual Healthcare Identifier. Insurance and rebate eligibility depend on your circumstances and policy.
How is my information handled?
Booking and clinical information is handled through the secure systems described in our Privacy Policy. Choose a private location for your consultation and do not send sensitive health information through public social media.
What happens after my appointment?
Your doctor will explain the plan, warning signs and any follow-up needed. Results, referrals or documents may require further review. Seek earlier care if symptoms worsen or new warning signs develop.
Insurance information
Official information about overseas cover is available from the Australian Government. Benefits and reimbursement depend on the individual policy.
